The B.A.S.C. (Before and After School Care) Network is a provider of on-site
before and after care for school age children which currently operates multiple
sites across Central New Jersey.
Staffed by certified teachers and teacher aides the B.A.S.C. curriculum includes
supervised homework time, gym and outdoor sessions, arts and crafts, enrichment
activities and special projects.
Our flexibility allows families to add, drop or change components of our program
as needed. Parents don't even need to be working to have a child in a B.A.S.C.
program. Some children come a few times a week for socialization or for our
special activities.
As owners and operators of pre-school and after school programs since 1991, Andrea
Maikowski and Lori Yarusi formed The B.A.S.C. Network in 1996 due to the demand to bring their
quality programming to other communities. Between them they have had five
children in B.A.S.C. programs. Both Andrea and Lori serve on the Board of
Directors of the NJ School Age Care Coalition whose purpose is to promote
quality before and after school programs throughout the state. In addition they
serve as advisors to other school age programs and in that role provide
technical training and workshops on relevant issues.
"Feedback from parents and children has been overwhelmingly positive. Although initially skeptical about the feasibility of a program such as this within the confines of a school building, I have never regretted the decision to bring them on board. They have quickly become a part of the community and they are truly an asset to our school system. It is with great pleasure that I recommend this fine organization to anyone seeking this service."

"All in all it's a very easy task to recommend the B.A.S.C. program.
It's well designed. It utilizes high quality personnel. It has lots of parent
and child input. And it is always getting better. All of us in the community are
very proud of B.A.S.C.'s accomplishments and there is no doubt that B.A.S.C.'s
program can serve as role model for similar programs."
